The Alabama Pines - Behind The Name
Welcome to my blog, The Alabama Pines! I’m excited to share stories, inspiration, and reflections that embody the heart of home, faith, and Southern living.
So why “The Alabama Pines”?
The name holds a deep connection for me.
It came from this idea of me wanting to be true to my roots, to where I came from. I’ve dreamed of sharing bits of life right where I am with others online for decades in hopes to encourage you to live a life that fires you up. Creating something greater than me — that I’m proud of.
Alabama’s towering pines are resilient, strong, and steadfast—qualities that resonate with my vision for this space. These trees remind me of long, peaceful walks, the quiet strength of nature, and the essence of Southern roots that run deep.
For years, I’ve changed my name over and over, searching for the ‘perfect’ name - I wanted something personal. You know, a family name or a street name that meant something, but it never rolled off the tongue the way I wanted.
I’m adopted and in 2018, a year after my mom had passed, I decided to do some family research and just learn more about who I was and where I came from. Over the last 6+ years, through DNA tests and lots of research with the help of a good friend, I can trace my family roots back to Alabama. Which, by the way, the state tree is the Long Leaf Pine. ;)
I guess some would say the rest is history, but this is only the beginning.
